Our consultants have experience with a wide
range of clinical, developmental, and behavioral needs. We are routinely
brought into schools at the request of parents, teachers, advocates, and even
attorneys to assist in meeting the needs of the child within the school
setting.
Often today children present with a range of
serious clinical and behavioral needs which are frequently of such a serious
nature that in-house staff are unfamiliar with the range of options
available to meet those needs. We are fortunate to have Dr.
Robert Montgomery, Joe Cermak, M.S., and Meredith Ouimette, M.A., available to provide school consultation
services.
Ms. Ouimette has been a certified special education
teacher with both classroom and consultation experience working for
public & private schools. Mr. Cermak has years of experience
consulting through the Wisconsin Early Autism Project and has provided support
to 5 Psychoeducational programs in Georgia. Additionally, Dr.
Montgomery, Mr. Cermak, and Ms. Ouimette are each Board Certified Behavior
Analysts™. Each of our school consultants has years of experience
working with staff serving the most behaviorally challenging students across
the range of school settings from home school to residential school
placement. We are proud of the fact that we do not ever merely provide
consultation on a single child, each consultant routinely teaches
behavioral and FBA skills to staff in order to assist them in better
serving all the children that they serve.
Many children today present with complex
medical and psychiatric histories that are extensive and complicated.
As a component of our conducting a Functional
Behavioral Assessment, we can provide diagnostic and interpretative services
in reviewing the materials from various health sources. Once a complete
diagnostic picture is developed, we will work with you and the school staff in
developing the most appropriate program for meeting the individual child's
needs. This can include recommending access to a variety of services,
development of additional resources, placement option consideration, staff
training, and on-going consultation and program monitoring as needed.
Consultations can be arranged to suit your
needs and may occur in person, via telephone, or by videotape. Initial
consultations involving records review, interviewing of significant
individuals, and direct observation must occur on-site in-person. Fees
are based on a variety of factors including consultant, frequency of contact,
one-time vs. ongoing consultation, etc.
