Mission Statement
Our mission is to
improve the quality of the lives of the children with whom we work. In order to achieve our goal we focus on positive programs drawing from both traditional
clinical and behavioral treatments modified and adapted for use in today's
most demanding situations.
Changes in
federal and state laws, coupled with changes in how private
insurance carriers see their role in providing services, have resulted in sweeping changes in the demands for
interventions for children and adolescents. Our training as clinical psychologists and behavior
analysts, with extensive experience helping a range of people, puts us in a
unique position in Georgia to assist. We work directly with adults through didactic and
hands-on interactions to develop needed skills. We assist in developing least restrictive
programs and in facilitating maximum productive involvement in the development
of the various
components of a comprehensive intervention.
It is our job to work our way out of a job. We achieve this by
training you and your staff so that you become the experts. Workshops and hands on staff training
are a part of meeting this goal. Such training includes: Behavior Management, Inclusion, Functional Assessment, Program Development for
Problem Behaviors, Aggression Reduction, Functional Language Skills, and Data Collection
and Management. In addition to formal training, we also provide Case Consultation and
Program Consultation to agency staff on the diagnosis, treatment, and program management
of specific cases. Consultation can include a Functional Behavioral
Assessment as called for by
IDEA, traditional psychometric assessment to augment the existing evaluations, direct observation in
the environment, interview and consultation with those most involved in the
case, attendance at IEP, ISP, Person Centered Planning, and other meetings, and consultation and collaboration
with staff.
Our goal is always to change behavior while providing information and
skills development to everyone involved in the case.
