Description:
This one-day conference is designed to provide consultants, therapists, and
parents who serve children in the Autism Spectrum with an introduction to
the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills - Revised (The
ABLLS-R). The ABLLS-R is used in developing effective curricula for
children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other language delays. It is an
assessment tool, curriculum guide, and skills-tracking system used to help
guide the instruction of language and critical learner skills for children
with autism or other developmental disabilities. This powerful tool is now
available to parents, teachers, speech pathologists, behavior analysts, and
others who design, coordinate, and/or supervise language or
skill-acquisition programs.
Objectives for the workshop
include:
-
Perform skills analyses to
determine a child's strengths and deficits.
-
Continually measure and
monitor learning achievements using specially designed skill tracking
grids
-
Develop priorities, select IEP objectives, and
formulate curricula.
-
Additionally, an introduction to the new
Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)
Continental Breakfast and
Chick-Fil-A Lunch are provided.
